TITLE OF BOOK: 3 MINUTES OF JUDGEMENT DAY

Reviewed by: Bashier Rahim (Cape Town)

Published by: Martyr Ibrahim Hadi Cultural Group (Iran)

SUMMARY:

This book is about a religious Iranian from Isfahan who is approximately in his late 30’s who experienced a “near death experience” during 2015 when undergoing complicated surgery and having actually died for 3 minutes after which he was resuscitated and came back to life.

During these 3 minutes he experienced aspects of the Barzakh (intermediate life after death before day of Judgement) and even experienced aspects of being questioned about a number of his actions in this world.

The person’s identity was kept anonymous and the book was written by the Cultural Group based on a number of interviews with the person.

One of his many religious attributes is his participation in the army and in particular defending the shrine of Lady Zainab (a.s) in Syria against ISIS.

Among the renowned ulama who read this book are Ayatullah Misbah Yazdi.

POSITIVES ABOUT THE BOOK:

This book is excellent for anybody who desires some shock treatment to bring about spiritual awakening. Don’t we all need that from time to time?

Many books have been written about near death experiences by people from all faiths and persuasions but are not very reliable as they all simply paint a picture of love and peace and heavenly experience.

While near death experiences and any spiritual experiences for that matter are actually generally only considered a proof or hujjah for the one who experiences it, the challenge that makes it unreliable for us is how to interpret these experiences.

What makes this book outstanding is that the person’s experiences are virtually all reconciled to our religious texts. And that’s what makes it further worthwhile to read it.

NEGATIVES ABOUT THE BOOK:

As with people who have near death experiences from other faiths who claim their experience validates their beliefs, so in this book there may be an experience or two that is shared that is subject to interpretation and seeks to validate a particular view eg. He experiences something that validates the Theory of Wilayatul Faqih (which is not necessarily shared by all).

SELECTED QUOTES FROM THE BOOK:

With respect to an old man who died and is now in Barzakh who wrongfully accused the author about something, the following is written:

“This good man has made a donation which was full of prosperity and brings him a lot of blessings. He made a Hosseiniye in your city for the people, with a pious intent and for the sake of God. If you want I can take all his blessings from the Hosseiniye

and put them in your Book so that you would forgive him”!!!

The author of course worked for the government and happened to have a good quality about being particular about Baitul Mal. In relation to this he was informed:

“You should Thank God that you don’t have Bayt Al-Mal to return. Otherwise, you had to get the consent of all Iranians.”

Imagine being stuck in Barzakh and needing to wait for all the citizens of the country to reach there to ask their forgiveness?!!

STAR RATING:

I give this book 8 out of 10 as it is an easy read and accessible to the masses as well as powerful in its appeal. The author for personal reasons left out some other content which could have made the book even more interesting.

DO I RECOMMEND THIS BOOK?

Most certainly. It has radically changed the lives of many. Take two to three days of your time to potentially become part of the many who experienced positive spiritual change.

And all Praise is due to Almighty Allah
